2020 Meeting – Lake Louise

Planning is underway for the 5th annual Network of Canadian Emergency Researchers meeting, to be held February 25th – 27th, 2020 in Lake Louise, AB.

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians. You may claim a maximum of 11.75 hours* (credits are automatically calculated). 
*Total hours will be confirmed with the final agenda.


NCER Membership

All meeting attendees must be a member of NCER (the membership fee is $50). NCER membership must be purchased before you can register for the meeting.

Meeting Registration
All EM researchers interested in emergency medicine research, including multi-centre trials, education research, and quality improvement (QI) research are encouraged to attend the meeting.

The meeting registration fee includes 3 breakfasts (Tuesday – Thursday) as well as a group dinner on Wednesday night. Spouses and children are invited to attend the dinner, but they must purchase a ticket ($100 for adults, $40 for children 2-12 years old).

Registration closes Friday, February 14.

*Non-CAEP member non-physician attendees must be nominated by a CAEP – NCER member in order to attend. 

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received in writing by January 27th, 2020 will be refunded minus a 25% administration fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after January 27th, 2020. Only cancellations received in writing (kwyatt@caep.ca) will be processed.

Protocol Presentations
Protocols will be selected for presentation based on: relevance to EM, appropriateness for a multi-centre trial, and experience level of the presenting author. Protocols accepted for presentation may receive feedback in advance of the meeting to assist in preparation. Please find an example of a protocol presentation hereSample NCER presentation.

Note: You must be a CAEP and NCER member in order to submit or present a protocol, and you must be registered for the meeting.
Protocol submissions are due January 30th, 2020 [updated].

Accommodation & Travel
Discounted hotel rooms are available at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, but you must book your room by January 27th 2020, in order to access the special rate. The meeting will start early on February 25th so plan to arrive the night before. Rates below are based on double occupancy. Hotel bookings can be made online by clicking this link, or by phoning 1-800-441-1414 and asking for the “NCER” group discount.

  • Fairmont Room (single occupancy): $203 per night (+ applicable taxes and fees)
  • Fairmont Room (double occupancy): $217 per night (+applicable taxes and fees)

NCER attendees are invited to use CAEP’s travel services provider, Uniglobe, to book their travel.
